An EEIG, or European Economic Interest Grouping, is a European Union-wide legal structure designed to facilitate cross-border cooperation between companies and organisations from at least two different Member States. It allows members to pool resources and skills to develop economic activities that benefit them collectively.
In 2019 Energence (UK) and SerenDPT (Italy) created an EEIG which survives Brexit and continues as a thriving collaboration.
A specific objective of the SEsDPT EEIG is for SerenDPT and Energence to share their extensive skills and experience and explore the possibility of combining the best elements of their web-platforms. The aim of not only to develop commercial opportunities for both organisations but also to drive innovation and ideas.
SerenDPT (Serenissima Development and Preservation through Technology) (serendpt.net) is a Venetian “Società Benefit” that specialises in “Smart City” concepts. The company combines commercial enterprise with the aim of creating a positive impact for society and the environment – and which operates in a transparent, responsible and sustainable way.
The staff of SerenDPT have over thirty years of experience in the field of “smart city” urban mapping and monitoring. They have evolved the “Venice Dashboard” which is a web-platform for the real time monitoring of the City. (http://venice2point0.blogspot.com/)
